BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The California Independent System Operator said it has lifted the Stage Two Emergency declaration for Monday evening.
Officials said it was in Stage Two throughout the afternoon and evening Monday, Stage Three is when they start shutting off power.
In a tweet, the California ISO said energy conservation and lower temperatures led to a lower demand than what was forecast.

Around 8:30 p.m. the California ISO said no power outages were expected Monday night after all.
Officials still strongly urge customers to conserve energy as the heatwave continues.
