BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Officials arrested three people for firearm and gang related charges in Southeast Bakersfield Friday evening.
According to a Bakersfield Police Department press release, a vehicle led authorities on a pursuit near Planz and Wible roads at about 6:03 p.m. Friday night.
During the pursuit a 17-year-old juvenile fled from the vehicle with a handgun, before discarding it. BPD units along with Kern County probation officers arrested the juvenile moments after without incident, according to the release.
The driver of the vehicle, identified as 21-year-old Kristopher Brown pulled over and was taken into custody along with a 17-year-old passenger.
All three suspects were booked for various firearm and gang participation charges.
