A student reportedly brought some type of gun onto the Frontier High School campus Thursday.
The above photo of a male holding a gun inside a bathroom stall was sent to 23ABC.
After an investigation, officers believe the firearm in question was an airsoft gun.
There was no immediate danger, according to officials.
The Kern High School District released the following statement:
"The Frontier High School administration was made aware of a possible real or imitation firearm on campus today. Law enforcement was notified and responded immediately. Based on the information obtained, officers believe the firearm in question was an airsoft gun.
The Kern High School District takes matters of this nature seriously, as the safety of our students and staff is a priority. Law enforcement and administration believe there was no immediate danger to the students and staff as the investigation unfolded this afternoon.
At this time the investigation is still underway and information will be provided once the investigation is complete."
