BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department reported more gang-related shootings in 2019 than in previous 2 years.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department, there were 57 gang-related shootings in 2019 compared to 52 shootings in 2018 and 2017.

In 2019, 12 gang-related shootings were fatal, compared to 13 fatalities in 2018 and 11 in 2017.

The most gang-related shootings in 2019 occurred in November, according to BPD, who reported 11 shootings that month.
