BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Officials say a shooting in Southeast Bakersfield Sunday morning left one man dead.

According to the Kern County Sheriff's Office, deputies were responding to a disturbance call near Chattahoochee Lane and Missouri Avenue at 11:49 a.m., when they found the man with multiple gunshot wounds.

A KCSO official said the man was deceased when deputies arrived.

Deputies arrested 49-year-old Jose Velasquez who is suspected of the shooting.

Officials did not release the name of the victim or any other information about the shooting.
