An infant was killed in a mobile home fire that left three families displaced in Oildale.

According to the Kern County Fire Department, a mobile home caught fire just before midnight Sunday in the 100 block of McCord Avenue. Two other mobile homes next to it also caught fire.

When fire crews arrived to the scene they were told an infant was inside one of the burning mobile homes. Crews were not able to save the infant who was later identified as 5-month-old Jenica Lozano.

The three mobile homes were completely destroyed. Six adults and three children were displaced.

County fire officials said 10 other families were also displaced due to power and gas outages.

No injuries were reported.

The property owner and the American Red Cross are providing assistance to those who were displaced.
