The Kern County Roads Department has been fixing roads throughout Oildale for the last couple of months. 

They were remodeling sidewalks, which before were filled with mostly dirt and now have fresh new cement. 

During construction some students say it made their walk home more difficult because of the many cars parked on the street and parts of sidewalks being closed. In the end, they're happy with the result. 

The Kern County Roads Department says their completion date for the project is April 11.
