Old Towne Pizza in Tehachapi closed by Public Health after failing inspection

Posted

Old Towne Pizza in Tehachapi has been closed by Kern County Public Health after they received a 60% on their health inspection, according to Public Health's website.

The inspection report says there were rodent droppings throughout the facility and evidence of gnaw marks on paper goods. There was also "unnecessary litter and debris throughout the facility that may harbor vermin."

Rodent droppings were specifically observed on pizza boxes, utensils and food preparation equipment. The report says the owner showed knowledge of the rodent problem but did not contact pest control to fix the problem.

It's unclear when the facility will reopen.
