One man is dead and another is in the hospital after a two-vehicle crash in southwest Bakersfield on Saturday.

The crash happened near the intersection of Panama Lane and Summerfield Drive. The investigation showed that one vehicle was turning onto Panama Lane without yielding to oncoming traffic when they were struck by an oncoming car.

One of the vehicles rolled over, blocking westbound lanes of Panama for a short time.

One of the drivers was taken to a hospital with major injuries, where he died on Saturday night. The other driver was taken to the hospital for minor injuries.

Drugs and alcohol are not being considered factors. The investigation is ongoing.
