UPDATE (Feb. 27, 2017 10:30 a.m.): The Kern County Coroner has identified the victim as 28-year-old Trevor Olsen of Ridgecrest. The official cause of death is pending.
One person is dead after a fatal vehicle versus pedestrian accident in Ridgecrest Thursday night.
Ridgecrest police responded around 9 p.m. to an unconscious male subject laying in the roadway near 800 N. China Lake Boulevard.
First responders tried to save the pedestrian but he died on scene due to his injuries.
The identity of the pedestrian has not been released.
