One driver arrested for DUI during DUI Checkpoint

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — One person was arrested for driving under the influence during BPD's DUI/ Driver's License Checkpoint Friday night.

BPD held a DUI/ Driver's License Checkpoint in the 3000 block of New Stine Road in Southwest Bakersfield Friday night between 6 p.m. and 2 a.m.

BPD says 1,167 vehicles were screened by officers. Six drivers were detained to be further evaluated to determine their sobriety. One driver was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

BPD says six drivers were cited for driving while unlicensed. Four motorists were found to be driving on a suspended license.
