One person is injured and a family of 15 have been displaced after a house fire occurred in Frazier Park early Sunday morning.
Kern County Fire officials said they received a call for a structure fire at the 5300 block of Frazier Mt Park Rd at around 12:33 a.m.
KC Fire crews arrived on scene to a two story 3000 square foot residential home with heavy smoke and flames seen.
Officials added a second alarm was immediately dispatched.
The first arriving KCFD crew encountered the porch on fire and spreading across 50% of the exterior.
KCFD officials said that due to the location, a water shuttle for water supply was set up 3 miles away which included 5 engines and Water Tender 67.
KC Fire crews deployed hose lines to extinguish the fire and found that the fire had caused a roof collapse. Residents evacuated the home prior to the arrival of fire crews.
KCFD says that one injury was reported for smoke inhalation, but the patient refused medical attention. Freezing temperatures was a concern and was a safety factor for the crews, but the fire was extinguished with in a few hours.
Fifteen family members were displaced from the home and was sheltered with American Red Cross.
