One person is dead after they were ejected from their vehicle on the I-5 on Sunday.

The California Highway Patrol says a vehicle was driving northbound on on the I-5 when it traveled off the roadway to the right for an unknown reason, hitting a fence and breaking through.

The vehicle then hit a dirt embankment and rolled an unknown amount of times, ejecting a female who was sitting in the back and not wearing a seatbelt. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two others in the car, a male driver and a female passenger in the front, were both taken to the hospital with major but non-life threatening injuries.

CHP says drugs and alcohol are not factors in this crash.
