One man was injured after the vehicle he was in was struck by a train on Edison Highway and Washington Street.

According to the Bakersfield Police Department the vehicle drove off the road and into the train tracks before being hit.

The man inside was taken to the hospital with minor to moderate injuries.

California Highway Patrol has taken over the investigation.
