One man wounded in Central Bakersfield drive by shooting

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Police are actively looking for the individuals responsible for a shooting in Central Bakersfield that took place Saturday.

BPD responded to a person down in the area of 4th and N streets early Saturday morning.

Officers found a man with a gunshot wound to his thigh.

Witnesses at the scene described the suspect vehicle as a newer model orange or red sedan with a black stripe along the side.

A second car was described as an older model burgundy GEO sedan with a black roof.

According to witnesses, they describe the driver as a black female and the rear passenger as adult black man wearing a black-hooded sweatshirt armed with a handgun.
