BAKERSFIELD, Calif. --- — One person is dead after being struck by a train in East Bakersfield, Kern County Fire Department officials say.

Crews responded to the incident near Cooley and Eucalyptus drives shortly before 5 p.m.

Officials say the victim, who they have not been able to identify yet, may be a male in his twenties.
