The Kern County Coroner has identified 56-year-old Frank Joseph O’Sullivan as the person who died in the garage fire in Rosamond on Monday morning.

A garage fire in Rosamond left one person dead Monday morning, according to the Kern County Fire Department.

According to officials, fire crews responded to the fire in the area of 1500 Franklin Avenue. When they arrived, they found a 250 square foot detached garage fully involved with heavy smoke and flames. They were also told that a person was inside the garage.

"Due to heavy fire conditions firefighting had to be done from the exterior. Next in crews took action on protecting adjacent exposed residences," officials said.

The fire was put out within minutes, according to KCFD.

A person was found dead inside during a search of the building.
