One person is in the hospital after being hit by a car in northeast Bakersfield on Saturday night.

The victim was struck near Height St. and River Boulevard around 8 p.m. An ambulance transported the victim to Kern Medical with major injuries, despite the victim allegedly attempting to deny receiving medical care.

The driver stayed at the scene and is cooperating with authorities. It is unknown if drugs or alcohol are being considered factors.
