BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Coroner's Office identified the man shot and killed in East Bakersfield on July 4 and 51-year-old Lionel Montelongo.

According to KCSO, Montelongo was shot and killed near Jastro Avenue and Smith Street at about 11:12 a.m. on July 4.

He was pronounced dead on scene.
