According to the California Highway Patrol one person was killed in an accident on Highway 99 near Interstate 5 near Fort Tejon.

The accident happened at about 6 p.m. Monday night in the northbound lanes of Hwy 99. Traffic was backed up along the Grapevine as a result of the accident.

The CHP has not released the cause of the accident or how many vehicles were involved.
