UPDATE (8:24 A.M.): Family identified victim as 28-year-old Jose Bibriesca Garduno. He was on his way to work at Wonderful Pistachio, according to the family. Garduno is from Santa Cruz County, but comes to Wasco during pistachio harvest season and had been doing so for four years.

At least one person is dead following a crash on Highway 46. 

The California Highway Patrol says multiple vehicles collided in the area of Buford Street and Highway 46 just before 5:30 Thursday morning. 

It's unknown what caused the crash.
