UPDATE (Oct. 2 10:20 a.m.): The victim of this accident was identified as 45-year-old Matthew Blacklock of Palmdale. Family members told officials that they were on a family outing.

Blacklock had been riding motorcycles since he was very young and took his family out to California City to ride some motorcycles, according to officials.

California City Police officers are on scene of a traffic accident that happened near 20 Mule Team Road and Bucknell Boulevard.

Police say they got a call about a motorcycle accident at around 5:15 p.m. on Saturday. When emergency crews arrived, they found the driver of the motorcycle, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The investigation is ongoing.
