UPDATE (Nov. 13 11:50 a.m.): The victim from this incident was found suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck and a single large caliber casing was found near him on the floor.
He was transported to Kern Medical where he underwent surgery and was in critical condition as of Sunday.
Deputies did not locate any other victims or evidence. Neighbors reported having heard multiple gunshots. The reason for the shooting and the identity of the suspects is still unknown.
The Kern County Sheriff's Office is investigating after one person was shot in Lamont on Saturday morning.
The shooting occurred on Elmco Road. The victim was taken to the hospital with major injuries and underwent surgery. Their injuries are said to be non-life threatening.
There is currently no suspect information, and the investigation is ongoing.
