One person is suffering from minor to moderate injuries after being shot in southeast Bakersfield on Sunday night.
The shooting happened just before 9 p.m. near Casino Street and Cottonwood Road.
Police have arrested 54-year-old Sylvestre Portillo, who now faces a charge of assault with a deadly weapon. Police say the gun he used in the shooting was stolen.
The victim, who has not been identified, has been taken to Kern Medical to be treated for a gunshot to the upper body. Bakersfield Police say the victim's injuries are non-life threatening.
It is unknown at this time if a suspect is in custody.
