The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a crash in southwest Bakersfield that sent a person to the hospital. 

Officials said around 9:00 p.m. Wednesday they responded to the area of Stockdale Highway and Rio Bravo Drive for a vehicle versus bicyclist crash. 

Officers on scene said the bicyclist had moderate to major injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital. 

It's unknown if drugs, alcohol or speed were a factor in the crash. 

The collision remains under investigation, anyone with information is urged to contact BPD at 327-7111.
