17-year-old victim dies in Panama Lane crash

Kern Coroner officials said that one victim has died from his injuries in a car crash that took place on Panama Lane Friday.

Officials identified the victim as 17-year-old Robert Rosales of Bakersfield. 

According to the Coroner's Office, Rosales was driving his vehicle when he lost control and struck another vehicle.

Two other people were hurt in the crash that took place on the 3700 block of Panama Lane. But they suffered minor injuries.

 

Rosales was transported to Kern Medical Center Emergency Room where he died from his injuries.

On Friday, witnesses told Bakersfield Police officers that there may have been another vehicle involved in the collision; however, that vehicle fled the scene prior to officers arriving.

Panama Lane and Akers Road were closed for hours on Friday.
