BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Nearly 200,000 households in the Bakersfield area will soon have access to an online grocery delivery service.
Instacart confirmed that they are launching service to the Bakersfield area on Nov. 29.
With the launch, residents will be able to order groceries from stores including Smart & Final, Costco, BevMo, Petco and Albertsons, and have them delivered right to their doorsteps.
Instacart said the groceries will be delivered in as little as one hour. The company also announced the launch will bring jobs, with plans of hiring more than 100 new shoppers.

To use Instacart, customers go to www.instacart.com or open the Instacart mobile app on an iPhone or Android device. Then, select your city and store, add items to a virtual cart and choose a delivery window of one or two hours. You can even select a delivery option of up to seven days in advance. Next, you checkout and an Instacart shopper accepts the order to deliver to you within your delivery window.
For orders of $35 or more, the delivery fee is just $5.99 An Instacart Express membership enables unlimited, free same-day delivery on orders of $35 or more.
