Services set for 112-year-old Ridgecrest resident Opal Goode

Services are now set for Ridgecrest resident Opal Goode, the 112-year-old who died earlier this month.

Good was 112 years old and was one of the nation's oldest living people.

According to the Holland and Lyons Mortuary website, Goode died Sept. 17.

Opal was born on June 3, 1907 in Comache, Oklahoma.

OPAL BECOMES LATEST TO REACH 110 YEARS

In June, family, friends and the community gathered to hold a birthday celebration for Goode.

A memorial services for Goode will be held Wednesday at High Desert Haven at 1240 College Heights Blvd., in Ridgecrest. Services are set to begin at 2.

Goode will be laid to rest Monday at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Bakersfield. Graveside services are scheduled to begin at 10 a.m.
