Nearly 1,600 Pacific Gas and Electric customers were without power Tuesday afternoon after a U-Haul van veered off the road and hit a power pole in Central Bakersfield.

Power lines were arcing across the roads near 3400 Buck Owens Boulevard.

PG&E crews are working to replace the pole. All but two customers have had power restored.

No injuries were reported.
