The Oxnard Police officer injured during a motorcycle training ride in Kern County last month is showing improvement in his recovery.
Officer James Langford is now awake after a medically-induced coma from a crash two weeks ago.
Langford, 35, has been moved from the intensive care unit and is doing well after surgery, according to officials. He is now in stable condition, according to Oxnard Police.
On Sept. 26, Langford was on a training ride in Kern County when he crashed on Highway 58 near Highway 33. Oxnard officials say he lost control of his motorcycle and was ejected.
He suffered head injuries and is being treated at Kern Medical.
Langford has been with the Oxford Police Department for 12 years.
