Panama-Buena Vista temporary closure begins Wednesday

The Panama-Buena Vista Union School District announced that it will close its schools temporarily beginning Wednesday.

On Sunday night, PBVUSD superintendent Kevin Silberberg said classes will continue Monday and Tuesday as scheduled. Classes will remain on a regular schedule.

Classes will resume April 14.

In a message to parents, Silberberg said, "P-BVUSD leadership is working diligently on providing updates to our families, staff and community. Our immediate focus is on the following issues related to closing school:

  • An independent educational resources solution (paper and digital) to 18,500 students
  • Technology and bandwidth to homes with no internet
  • Meals for students
  • Student medications
  • Multiple special education issues
