Starting Monday, a portion of Highway 43 will be closed in Kern County for road work.

Caltrans says Hwy 43 will be closed in both directions between Hwy 119 and Interstate 5 from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Caltrans said the closure is expected to last until Friday, May 15.

Detours for the I-5 will be posted by Caltrans.
