FRESNO, Calif. — The Pastor of Good Shepherd Parish, Father Eric Swearingen, has been placed on paid administrative leave as of Wednesday, June 5, according to the Fresno Diocese.

This move comes "in light of detailed information associated with a civil case dating back to 2009." The Diocese also said that Father Swearingen is "very seriously ill."

Multiple churches fall under the leadership of Good Shepherd Parish, including The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Visalia, Holy Family, St. Charles Borromeo in Visalia, and St. Thomas the Apostle in Goshen.

This is an ongoing story and will be updated as more details are received.
