Pawternity leave offered for new pet parents in the Nordics

When getting a new pet, wouldn't it be nice to get a few days off to get your new furry friend situated? Residents in Nordic countries can now be on Pawternity leave.

Musti Group, the largest pet supply chain in the Nordics, is offering the possibility of a paid, three-day leave for employees who get a new puppy or kitten.

Pawternity went into effect on June 1 for the company's 1,500 employees.

When a furry friend first enters a new home, both the pet and owner have new routines to get accustomed to, Musti Group says.

"Depending on the needs of each pet, the first days spent together can be rather intense, and sleepless nights are more than familiar to recent pet parents," Musti Group says.

The paid Pawternity leave is currently only available in the Nordics.
