A pedestrian is in critical condition after a crash in Southwest Bakersfield.
According to BPD, around 7:14 a.m., a female pedestrian was hit by a female driver in a 4-door hatchback on Akers Road and McKee Road. The pedestrian was taken to the hospital with major injuries. At this time, she is currently in critical condition.
The cause of the collision is currently under investigation. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with investigators. BPD does not believe alcohol, drugs, or speed were factors in the collision. BPD does not known if the pedestrian was inside of a crosswalk when she was struck.
