Pedestrian killed in hit and run in Southwest Bakersfield, search continues for suspect

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Bakersfield Police Department is looking for the driver of a vehicle that hit and killed a pedestrian Wednesday morning.

According to BPD, police responded to the area of Parker Avenue and Oriole Street at around 1:15 a.m. Wednesday.

Police found a man who had been struck by a car. The man has been identified as 54-year-old Kirk Conlin Parish. He was taken to a hospital where he later died.

Police say the car that hit the man was a Dodge Challenger or Dodge Charger. It had black and gray two-tone paint.
