BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — A man has died after being struck by a vehicle in East Bakersfield Sunday evening.

According to the California Highway Patrol traffic page, the man was struck in the intersection of Fairfax Road and Eucalyptus Drive at about 8:35 p.m.

Roadways are shutdown in both directions of the intersection.

It is unclear whether the pedestrian was in a cross walk.

The vehicle that struck the pedestrian is still on scene.
