Pedestrian struck by Freight Train in Central Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Just after 3 p.m. on Monday, December 17, a northbound Union Pacific freight train struck a pedestrian in the area of Q Street near Espee.

According to Union Pacific, the pedestrian suffered fatal injuries. Union Pacific police are currently working alongside BPD on the investigation. Freight trains were stopped for approximately 2 hours while the investigation was going on.
