The Kern County Sheriff's Office has identified the man who lost his life on Wednesday after being struck by a trailer that disconnected from a pickup truck.
Michael Franklin Evans, 32, was pronounced dead at the scene after he and another pedestrian were hit on the sidewalk.
According to police, the trailer was heading northbound on Wible Road at White Lane at the time of the incident.
The trailer continued traveling down the road and struck a vehicle that then crashed into two other vehicles.
