The Bakersfield Police Department is investigating a vehicle versus bicyclist crash that happened in south Bakersfield Monday afternoon.

Officials said they responded to the crash in area of Ming Ave. and S. H St. around 4:00 p.m. 

When officers arrived they found a man with who had been riding his bicycle had been struck by a vehicle and was injured. 

He was taken to a nearby hospital for where he was listed in critical condition. 

The driver of the vehicle in the crash remained at the scene and police said they are cooperating with the investigation. 

Police said drugs and alcohol do not appear to have contributed to this collision, but the investigation is continuing.
