PG&E announces possible PSPS for 'small portion' of Kern County

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Another Public Safety Power Shutoff has been added to a small area of Kern County due to hot, dry winds and elevated fire risk, PG&E officials announced Tuesday .

According to Pacific Gas and Electric, if the planned power shutoff is initiated 30 customers in Bakersfield 41 in Arvin and 4 in Lebec will be impacted.

"Based on current forecasts, the peak winds would blow from about 2 a.m. on Thursday, Oct. 24, until about noon on Friday, Oct. 25," PG&E officials said in a statement.

PG&E is expected to give another update on this PSPS Tuesday afternoon.
