LEBEC, Calif. — With California facing what's being called a historic wind event Pacific Gas and Electric is preparing for more power shutoffs. PG&E says nearly a thousand Kern County customers could be impacted.

Tuesday morning PG&E announced that 600,000 customers could possibly have their power shut off in central and northern California. Of those nearly 840 residents in Lebec could be subject to public safety power shutoffs.

If that were to happen those Kern County residents could lose power starting at 9 p.m. Tuesday night.

PG&E says it will continue to monitor forecasts to determine if and where shutoffs are necessary.
