BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — Starting this month, PG&E will perform routine gas meter inspections in Kern County as part of their ongoing safety efforts.
In a news release, PG&E says they've contracted Alisto Engineering to perform its inspections.
PG&E is advising customers that Alisto Engineering staff will be wearing PG&E hats and safety vests but their shirts will not have a PG&E logo. The workers will also carry a mobile phone in order to record the inspections. In addition, the workers will not be in PG&E vehicles but will have a PG&E placard in the windshield. Workers will carry photo identification and fact sheets that they can present upon request.
According to PG&E, the contractors will not enter your home during these inspections. If you ask for an ID or badge and you still feel uncomfortable, call PG&E's customer service line at 1-800-743-5000 to verify PG&E's presence in the community.
PG&E says these inspections will conclude in four to six weeks, barring unforeseen delays like inclement weather. Inspections generally take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. to 6 p.m.
