BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — PG&E wants to raise its rates but the California Public Utility Commission wants to get customer input before making a decision. The commission is holding a number of forums to get customer input on the utility's request.

PG&E says it needs to raise rates as a precautionary measure to reduce wildfire risk along with hardening its infrastructure.

Before the commission rules, they will hold forums starting next month throughout the state. The first will be on July 9th in San Francisco. And they will be coming to Bakersfield. A public forum will be held on August 13th at 1:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. Those will both happen in the Public Services Building on 2700 M Street.
