BAKERSFIELD, Calif. — The Kern County Aging and Adult Services Department will receive a $30,000 grant from PG&E that will help them operate cooling centers this summer.

PG&E has long supported cooling centers in locations in its service area where summer temperatures usually reach triple digits.

Cooling centers will be open to the public throughout Kern County when the temperatures are forecast by the National Weather Service to exceed certain highs.
