Tuesday morning, the Kern County Aging and Adult Services Department will get a boost thanks to a grant from PG&E.

On Tuesday, the utility company will issue a $30,000 grant to help fund and operate cooling centers around Kern County.

On the valley floor, cooling centers will open once the temperature reaches 105 degrees.
