PG&E's Summer Jobs Program kicks off June 20th where Kern County teens get job training, according to PG&E.
It's a program that partners with the Boys & Girls Club and works in two portions.
The teens graduated from the "Career Launch" portion and 55 students will now work 20 hours per week with one of the Intern sites. They start June 20th and work through July 29th.
They work Monday through Thursday and report back to the Boys & Girls Club for professional development every Friday.
Many companies and non-profits stepped up to offer the students a summer internship including mentoring. The Boys & Girls Club is very grateful for the ongoing community support.

This year, the Better Together Summer Jobs Program will provide more than 850 with workforce training and 210 youths with paid summer jobs in Fresno County, Kern County and the greater Sacramento area. Since the inception of the program in 2012, nearly 3,500 have received job training and by the end of summer 909 teens will have received a paid job. This is the fourth year that PG&E’s program is bringing the benefits of job training to youth and businesses in Kern County. Last year, 55 students received hands-on experience, which later resulted in three local job offers.
