Pacific Gas and Electric will hold two public hearings today to allow residents to share their thoughts on a revenue-raising plan.

The plan would raise PG&E's core revenues almost 17% over the next 3 years; the company says that it needs the money for improved technologies like renewable energies and mobile technology for its field workers.

Under the proposed plan, the average customer would see about a $2 a month increase starting early next year, while their natural gas customer would see an increase of $0.88 per month.

Both hearings will take place at Bakersfield City hall, the first at 1 p.m. and the second at 6 p.m.
