Pizza Factory is hosting fundraisers on Mondays in order to support local kids attending the National Future Farmer's of America Convention in Indianapolis and Washington DC this October.

According to officials, this is one of many fundraisers that Kern Valley FFA members are doing over the summer.

Starting August 6, the owner of Pizza Factory is allowing FFA members to work at the shop from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. every other Monday in order to raise support for their trip. He will donate a portion of the proceeds to the FFA members.

According to FFA advisor Emily Keverline, each student has to raise around $1500 to cover trip costs. The National FFA Convention has over 55,000 members attend the convention every year to compete and attend leadership workshops and a career expo.

In previous years, FFA members have visited Chicago Nashville and Louisville. Keverline says in addition to attending the convention and touring historical interests, FFA members will visit colleges and universities in Indianapolis and DC.
