Man shot and killed in Arvin has been identified

Update: The man who was shot and killed in Arvin Monday night has been identified.

Arvin police say 32-year-old Moses Joseph Delafuenta was found on Langford Avenue, near Butte Avenue just before 5:30 p.m. suffering from several gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

There is no suspect information at this time.

The Arvin Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that happened Monday evening.

Police said they received a call of shots fired around 5:30 p.m. in the area of Langford Ave. and Butte Ave. in Arvin.

When officers arrived on scene they found a 30-year-old Hispanic man suffering from several gunshot wounds. Officials said the victim was unresponsive and was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Kern County Coroner was called out.

As of 11:30 p.m. Monday night Langford Avenue was blocked between Butte Ave. and Stockton Ave.

Police have not released any potential suspect information and the name of the victim has not been released.
